‘Pucker up’ Fab Bag  – February 2017 – Unboxing!

This is my very first post on my blog w.r.t makeup and beauty! So constructive criticism is always welcome! 🙂

So back to the topic. Fab bag has been in the market for a couple of years now. Despite the fact that I’m always trying out new products, this is my first subscription to it and in fact, to any bag of sorts. I always tend to buy full sized products online and never miss a chance to grab a good sample lol! So this service is good for people like me and is a great value for money as well!

So this month’s Fab bag is called ‘The Pucker Up – February Fab Bag’ and comes in a really pretty, faux leather pouch with little lips and lipgloss tubes all over it. This looks really cute and is a perfect cosmetic pouch to drop in one’s handbag!

The contents of this month’s bag are –

1. SUGAR  Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick – 03 Tan Fan (Full Size)

Price – Rs. 499 for 4.5ml

This is a recent launch by Sugar Cosmetics. To be honest, I was hoping for the shade ‘Brink of Pink’ which is a lovely mix of  fuschia and magenta. However, I received ‘Tan Fan’ which is pretty good too! 😀

It is a lovely plummy nude colour which would look great on all skin tones. It would be a nice nude on people with medium to deep skintones and would look like a dark fall colour for those with fairer skin tones. The doe foot applicator is really nice and thin, yet wide enough to not repeatedly dip back for product.

The product applies opaque in one swipe and doesn’t look patchy or blotchy at all. It dries down to a 100% matte finish in about a minute post application. The packaging however reminds me of Maybelline’s Velvet Matte lipsticks (the ones with the black cap). They could’ve been more creative with the packaging! Also, despite the fact that the shade is beautiful, I don’t understand why they named it Tan Fan since this is definitely not a Tan colour.

I’ve included swatches below –

They really mean it when they say Smudge me not! I tried it on in the noon at about 1 pm and it is about 8.30 pm now and it’s still perfectly fine! It is definitely drying so I would suggest exfoliating and putting on a good lip balm underneath! I put on the Matra lip balm(as reviewed below) after about 2 hours and felt much better due to the dryness.

My Rating – 4/5

(Lovely colour, long lasting. But -1 for the dryness! )

2. Matra Holistic Lip Care – Vanilla Ice (Full Size)

Price – Rs. 199 for 4.5g

I wasn’t really sure what to expect from this balm as a lot of natural lip balms (no matter how good they are) tend to be greasy and heavy on the lips. However, I was pleasantly surprised!

The product smells like a yummy Vanilla cupcake! It is not very strong however, which I like. The lip balm looks blue in the tube, which looks intimidating at first haha! But it applies clear. On my perennially dry lips, it did a good job of moisturising them for almost about 3 hours after which it didn’t dry them out like other ones. After about 3-4 hours, you would have to reapply this.

My rating – 5/5

(Great for the price, moisturising, love the smell! )

3. Just Herbs LivelyClean Honey Exfoliating Face Cleansing Gel (50 ml)

Price – Rs. 230 for 50ml

This is a sample and not a full size product. However, this is a really good size for a sample. One can get about 15-20 uses of this little bottle.

The gel smells lovely. It reminds me of Roohafza! 😛 Also, this is made without parabens and is SLS/SLES free.

The gel is not very runny, but isn’t very thick either. It doesn’t run down the hand quickly. It legit looks feels like honey, but not as sticky!  It does a good job of exfoliating the skin and is pretty gentle. So it would be great for sensitive skin. The grains in this are pretty small and don’t feel harsh on the skin at all.

My rating – 4.5/5

(Love the smell, texture, size and consistency. However, would’ve preferred it to be in a tube instead since you have to tilt the bottle each time and can cause a lot to fall on the hand! So -0.5 for that! )

4. Batiste Dry Shampoo (Full Size)

Price – Rs.299 for 50ml , 30g

This is a full sized version of the mini variants of the Batiste Dry Shampoos.

It smells really fruity, but pretty chemical as well. As for the product, I personally find that the size is a bit small since for someone like me with thick hair, one bottle would only last about 1-1.5 uses. Also, the dry shampoo does leave a white cast behind so you have to massage it in really well. It, however, does a great job of sucking up and oiliness after a day or two of hair wash!

My rating – 3.5/5

(Great product, works well. However, -0.5 each for the smell, the white cast and the size! )

Overall products total value –

Rs. 499+Rs. 199+Rs. 230+Rs. 299 =

Rs.1227 worth products for Rs.599 (Excluding the pretty bag! )

Overall verdict –

Pretty impressed with the bag. Would definitely subscribe for more in the coming months. Definitely worth what you pay for!

Would I suggest this to friends or family, etc?

Definitely!

See you in my next post soon!

P.S. Please don’t forget to like the post and to leave a little comment or even a critique! Would highly appreciate it 💙
